VÍCTOR BARCELÓ - percussion

Equally comfortable with the most complex contemporary percussion compositions or the creative demands of free improvised music, Víctor Barceló has been working with Wade Matthews since he moved from Switzerland to Madrid several years ago. When they began playing together, both were surprised by how easily their respective sound worlds (percussion and electroacoustics) merge to generate a composite language in which it is often difficult for the audience to know who is making what sound. Their most recent appearance was at the Tesla Festival in León, where their musical understanding was manifest, despite extreme scheduling challenges, with Matthews arriving from a 5-week South-American tour less than three hours before the concert and Víctor leaving that same night for an extended stay in Australia.
